Windows: Let the Light In

Victorian Beauty and Privacy ©Phoenix 2006, St. Charles, IL

The owner of this Victorian frame home built in 1902 needed a splash of color to brighten the rooms, and, because the rooms were small, she wanted to increase the light admitted to the room. An additional need was privacy since these two windows faced her neighbors' home just a short distance away.

We used traditional Victorian glass in the center motifs and surrounded them with Wissmach clear seedy, a glass which has the flavor of antiquity, allows full light into the room, but obscures the outside and adds privacy to the inside. The panels were installed directly into the original 1902 window frames.

The 1902 house restored. The double windows are on the left side of the home.
